Bitget, the world’s leading universal exchange (UEX), officially supports Global UNICEF Game Jam, a virtual hackathon for young people in eight countries, creating original video games over 40 days. The initiative is part of Bitget’s partnership with Unicef’s Game Changers Coalition, reflecting CEO Gracy Chen’s ongoing commitment to using blockchain as a power of education, empowerment and opportunity.
For Gracy, who has become one of the most visible female leaders in the Crypto industry, recently being nominated for one of the top 50 women in Web3 & AI, the hackathon is not a platform for creativity, but also a gateway for gaining access to girls in emerging economics, particularly science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (Steam) skills. In her view, blockchain and Web3 can be tools to break the cycle of poverty by equipping young people with a path to entrepreneurship, innovation and financial independence.
“Introducing children with digital skills at an early age is important to accelerate the growth of emerging technology and finance. In many cases, access to technical education is too slow and excludes the most likely people. Bitget CEO, CEO.
As a strategic partner of the UNICEF Game Changers Union, led by the UNICEF Innovation Office, Bitget Academy, Bitget Educational division will help develop UNICEF’s first interactive, online and face-to-face blockchain training module based on video game creation skills development. Support from Bitget will help us reach 300,000 people, including adolescent girls, parents, mentors and teachers with blockchain skills from eight countries.
This new chapter goes beyond education. Bitget debuted the Lady Forward campaign, launching university partnerships, new internship programs, and women’s leadership programs that connect women across the blockchain ecosystem, from developers and investors to entrepreneurs and policymakers.
Gracie’s advocacy is strengthened through her role as a guest professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). There, she teaches blockchain courses designed for finance and mathematics students, combining academic rigor with case studies, real-world applications, and guest insights from industry leaders. The classrooms will blend Harvard Business School case methods, and pitching sessions and guest discussions will become a platform for the next generation to equip the next generation with leading skills in the digital first economy.
As BlockChain4her enters the era of “Lady Forward”, Bitget has been involved in the practice through collaboration with Unicef. The collaboration with UNICEF is based on Bitget’s broad commitment to connecting blockchain with Web3 technology, and is based on an initiative that will expand digital access, promote creative learning, and promote meaningful change that equips young people in development regions with tools to thrive in the global economy of the future.
