Completely wireless hardware wallet introduces the world’s first auditable secure element and quantum-enabled architecture for next-generation protection
Prague, October 21, 2025: Trezor, the original hardware wallet company, has launched Trezor Safe 7, a new generation of hardware wallet that introduces several industry-first features: a fully auditable secure element (TROPIC01) and a quantum-ready architecture. It also features seamless mobile connectivity, making it easier than ever to securely manage your cryptocurrencies from anywhere.
Featuring a vibrant color touchscreen, anodized aluminum unibody, and open source firmware, the Trezor Safe 7 is built to provide transparent, long-term self-storage without compromising ease of use or design.
The first transparent secure element
At the heart of the device is TROPIC01, the world’s first transparent and auditable secure element. Unlike traditional secure elements that rely on private architecture, TROPIC01 allows the community to inspect, verify, and validate its design. This approach addresses a long-standing problem in cryptographic security: the need to trust proprietary hardware without understanding how it works.
quantum-ready architecture
Trezor Safe 7 is designed with the future in mind. Quantum-enabled architecture means the device supports quantum-safe updates, ensuring long-term device integrity and reliability. When the network is eventually upgraded to post-quantum security, there will be no need to replace the hardware wallet.
“Security has always been the foundation of everything we do at Trezor. With Trezor Safe 7, we introduce TROPIC01, the world’s first transparent and auditable secure element. It sets a new standard for both security and transparency in hardware wallets.”
“I have long believed that quantum computers belong to the realm of science fiction, but the pace of innovation is changing that. Within the next decade, Bitcoin and other blockchains will have to transition to post-quantum algorithms. It’s not a matter of when. That’s why we built a quantum-ready bootloader into Safe 7. Even in a future where quantum computers are a threat, you can safely update your device when the time comes.”
This quantum-readiness, combined with TROPIC01, establishes a new standard for open and future-proof security. Protecting digital freedom with safe, easy-to-use and transparent tools is always important to us. ” Tomáš Sušanka, CTO of Trezor, added:
Security without compromise
Trezor Safe 7 applies a layered approach to secure cryptographic storage. It features dual secure elements: a transparent and auditable TROPIC01 chip and an NDA-free EAL6+ secondary element, ensuring physical and cryptographic protection. The private key is kept completely isolated from the host system, but all sensitive operations require physical confirmation on a 2.5-inch high-resolution color LCD touchscreen.
“At a time when convenience is drawing users to custodians and ETFs, we believe it is more important than ever to reinforce the true meaning of self-custody: complete control without compromise,” said Matěj Žák, CEO of Trezor.
“Trezor Safe 7 is our answer. It’s the first hardware wallet with a fully auditable secure element, dual-chip architecture, and a time-tested wireless design. It reflects everything we stand for: transparency, ease of use, and permissionless trust. With this device, we’re making the most secure option the most intuitive and raising the bar for what users expect from cryptographic security.”
Designed for modern ease of use
Trezor Safe 7 supports Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), magnetic Qi2 compatible wireless charging, and features a high-resolution color touchscreen. Bluetooth communications are secured by Trezor Host Protocol (THP), an open source layer that ensures encrypted, authenticated, private connections between mobiles, desktops, and tablets. These hardware choices, combined with a rugged aluminum unibody and Gorilla Glass protection, provide a seamless experience across mobile and desktop environments.
Through the Trezor Suite platform, users can manage, trade, and stake thousands of coins and tokens, and access third-party integrations, all in one interface.
Trezor introduced Safe 7 during a live event called Trustless by Design (TBD) in Prague, giving the cryptocurrency community a first look at its new flagship. A complete recording of the launch is available on Trezor’s official YouTube channel.
Designed for resilience
Trezor Safe 7 features a durable aluminum unibody, Gorilla Glass 3 display, IP54 dust and splash resistance, and a long-life LiFePO4 battery that delivers 4x more charge cycles than standard lithium batteries. A Bitcoin-only version is also available, designed for users who prefer a focused Bitcoin-only experience.
Trezor Safe 7 costs $249 (€249). Charcoal Black and Bitcoin-only versions are currently available for pre-order on Trezor’s official e-shop, with Obsidian Green also coming soon.
Shipping is expected to begin within 4 weeks. Exclusive accessories include a magnetic Qi2 certified wireless charger (free gift with pre-orders), a snug-fitting vegan leather case for Trezor Safe 7, a Trezor Universal Case to keep your Trezor model safe, a privacy screen protector with 28° view filter, and a durable braided USB-C charging cable.
